About

Our Vision

Established in 1973 as a simple sporting goods store and awards shop, we have been blessed to grow into the business we are today. We pride ourselves on customer service and quality of work, offering solutions in Awards, Recognition, Screen Printing, Embroidery, Signs, and Promotional Products.

Every business is different. Every organization was created for a different reason. Every non-profit exists for a different purpose. Every high school cheers for a different mascot. Every local church has a different need than the next. No matter what you’re involved in, one thing is certain: it’s unique in some way, it’s different. From the teachers at a local school to the CEOs at the top of a Fortune 500 Company, every one of them has a different vision and a different goal.

While differences may define an organization’s outward appearance, the people within them are the common denominator. People are what matter because they are at the heart of these organizations. They are what give it value and purpose.

At Action Awards, our goal is to partner with these people. Our purpose is to add value to their organization and champion their cause. We believe this is possible by partnering with them to help cast and carry their vision. And we know this is only possible when the partnership is personal and tailored to their needs. From designing a t-shirt to building a personalized plaque, every order is customizable. Every variable is different. Our goal is to promote your purpose using these differences and see you succeed as a result.

Our Vision is to partner with people to promote their purpose.

Our Mission

To show value and purpose in those we serve by helping them cast their vision empowering them to reach their goals. We will achieve this by helping them find the right promotional solution for their need, while providing exceptional customer service and an excellent end product.

Do the right thing in a reliable way; because it’s the right thing to do.

Integrity is defined in two ways: 1) the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; 2) the state of being whole and undivided. The former is a given, the latter is the lesser known definition that teams often miss. To be honest with each other and with our customers is a non-negotiable. It is the idea of being undivided that sets good teams apart from great teams. We will disagree. We will have healthy debate. What keeps us unified in the midst of it is our integrity. Do. Right. By. People.

Work hard. Play Hard.

Charles Dickens said, “There is nothing in the world so irresistibly contagious as laughter and good humor.” We believe Action Awards should be a fun environment. We believe in working hard, but believe you can also have fun doing it. The two are not mutually exclusive. Anything you enjoy, you are naturally going to do a better job with and give more of yourself to, so make it fun. If you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life.

“Once you stop learning, you start dying” - Albert Einstein

Knowing doesn’t just happen. To attain knowledge you must first learn. Candles and torches worked just fine until Edison discovered there was a better way. Thinking we know too much creates pride and pride impedes progress. Pride is a pond but progress a river. In the same way a dam prevents water from flowing, pride creates comfort that limits us from moving forward. We will guard ourselves from this not by asking, “CAN it be done better?” but by demanding of ourselves, “HOW can it be done better?”

Efficient + Effective + Engaging = Excellence

We will strive in every way to be excellent. Why? Because Excellence = Happiness. Excellent experiences release the neurochemicals that make us happy. Operating at a greater level of mastery literally fuels your body with joy, leaving you wanting more of the same. This in turn is passed on to your team members and the customer leaving everyone wanting more. It’s a win (You) + win (Team Members) + win (Customer) situation. Be excellent, because everybody wins.

“Let every word you speak be drenched with grace and tempered with truth and clarity.” Col. 4:6

Be real and transparent in words and actions. Speak truth covered in grace. This doesn’t mean to sugarcoat our mistakes or shortcomings. It simply means we will be open and honest with one another and do it in a respectful way. Half-truths hinder growth. Truth may cause temporary pain, but if well delivered and well received will multiply growth. This requires both the giver and the receiver to be candid and show humility in speech and action. This is the way we will carry ourselves.

Time • Talents • Treasures

Time is our most valuable asset. Talents are how the world sees value in us. Treasures are the things in your life that have value because of the lens you see them through. The joy you bring an elderly person after giving them your time cannot be measured. The value you add to a person after showing them how to do something is exponential. The impact your 10% tithe has on the world is far beyond what you will ever be able to see with your own eyes. So why give of your time, talents, & treasures expecting nothing in return? Because the return on investment is adding endless value to the world around you. The effect we have on someone is the most valuable currency there is. We affect change by giving.
